My New Year’s Resolution

As I’m sure many of you do, at the beginning of every year I spend time reflecting. What went well last year? What can I do differently this year? How am I going to really stick to the gym this time?

It’s an experience I’m sure we can all relate to, the beginning of the year feels like all the possibilities of what’s to come and what we can do with it. A blank slate.

After getting through the same resolutions, I’ve had most years, fix my diet in this way, declutter my home in that way, finally sit down and get to such and such project which is definitely going to be the one that fixes EVERYTHING, I arrived at the thought of something relatively new: make sure I put time and effort into my community.

Sober travelers pose in front of the Rincon de la Vieia National Park sign.Community is the beating heart of what do at Choose Life Sober Adventures. We say it again and again, but that’s because it really is that simple. I know that leaning on a strong community, through the good times and the bad, is the only thing that can ensure long term recovery. There may be those that can do it alone, but I haven’t run across such a case so far.

If you’re reading this, you’re a part of our community at CLSA. My community. Sharing a passion for seeing the most amazing things the world has to offer, as well as a common goal of long term recovery, is what bonds each and every one of us. It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am that you’re along for the ride.
